A Vegetarian’s Guide to San Francisco Restaurant Week

by Jyo

It’s restaurant week in San Francisco!

San Francisco, worshipped by foodies everywhere, celebrates the art of making & serving food, from Jan 18–29. The city’s brightest establishments craft thoughtful prix-fixe menus for the week & offer discounted culinary experiences of their finest or newest dishes.

Why It’s Great

For $15-$25 lunch & $40 dinner menus, you can get 3–4 course meals that normally cost a fortune. ($15-$25 on lunch might sound nuts, I grew up paying $3 for grilled cheese sandwiches! But for fancy pant restaurants in San Francisco, this is actually a good deal). It’s a great way to explore new flavors, new places & make new memories, without breaking the bank.

Also, you can be entered to win $1200 in dining certificates! More on that here.

In my experience though, vegetarian options are hard to come by. It’s kinda sad to go to a fancy place, you know for a special occasion….. and then have a salad. (And I prefer Nutella over salad, thank you very much).

So I combed through 130 menus of participating restaurants, to craft a vegetarian’s guide to SF’s restaurant week.
